Day Trip- Scenes from La Paz

After a scenic trip into La Paz from the Lake we are dropped off near the San Francisco Church and the famed Witches Market. The surrounding 15 square blocks are filled with street vendors and a huge assortment of jewerly, sweaters, silver and a huge variety of colorful nick-nacks. Most vendors have calculators and will show you prices in Bolivianos or many will convert to US dollars Moneybelts are suggested and you should leave your jewerly back at the hotel. Street vendors offer a wide variety of foods, but you are certaintly taking your chances if you partake. Since many shops close for lunch, the group usually meets for a quick lunch at the El Presidente Hotel.
