On Friday we ascended Chacaltaya (at right edge), to an altitude of over 17,000 feet.
The one lane road is narrow and the cliffs steep...

Near the summit is the Cosmic Ray Laboratory. This lab is where the Pi Meson was discovered, for which a Nobel prize was awarded.
